you are loved. you are so loved that someone died for you. there is no greater love than His. a love that is authentic, genuine, true, everlasting, pure, patient, kind, and most importantly never ending. the cross is His great example of His love. He died for you. FOR YOU! i cannot say that enough; He died for you. because He loved you so much that He took on the weight of sin and death so that He would have the chance to be with you forever, and all you have to do is choose Him in return. you have to recognize His power and love for you and grasp hold of that. He died for you. He washed away your sins, every sin you have ever committed and will commit in your life, He bore it, and He defeated it. He has already forgiven it because He loves you. He knew that it was our place to be on that cross, that it was supposed to be us paying the wages of sin. we are supposed to be sentenced to eternal punishment, we are supposed to suffer and die, but His love is SO GREAT that He took it all upon Himself so that we could live eternally with Him and so that we could live free, as a forgiven people! we are called out of darkness into His wonderful life (1 Peter 2:9). there is no love greater than His. and there is no power that can defeat Him. a sweet friend of mine and I were talking today about why today is called Good Friday if it is the day that Jesus was crucified. the day that God’s heart broke is called good? it seems crazy, but what happened today, all those years ago, was and still is a true example of love. there is no greater image of love than what Jesus did for us on this day. He took on every sin we have ever done and ever will do. it was so awful that God actually had to turn His face away from His Son. He couldn’t look at Him because He was covered in so much of our sin. and y’all can you imagine the kind of hopelessness that the disciples had that day. i mean i can only imagine that type of hurt and pain, and y’all, they most of all felt so lost and abandoned and so confused. so why on God’s green earth is today called good? because God did His thing, and He turned the worst day in history into a day that we call good. because yes, He died and it was absolutely heartbreaking, but He died for YOU! He died for ME! because He loves you, because He wants you to want Him and for you to accept Him so that you can spend eternity with Him. He has given you this chance! He wants YOU and He died for YOU because He loves YOU. God is just so good that He alone can turn the worst day in history into a day that we call good because His love for YOU is so awesome!!! He specializes in the unexpected, the seemingly impossible, the working all things for good!! what is the common theme in everything that I have said? it’s YOU. It’s that His love for YOU is so great that He died, but then you know Jesus wasn’t about to take an L and let death win, so He walked right out of the grave for you. How cool is that? because there is no greater love than His. what He did on the cross for you is the perfect example of selfless love. so i hope that today, this Good Friday, you remember that you are so loved and that Jesus defeated death for you. if God can make Jesus’ death into something good, then can’t you trust Him to work in your life and make good of your circumstances? oh my gracious y’all, He loves you so much. i pray that y’all can remember this today. i love y’all so very much and so does God. He is so good and you are priceless!
